About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Damp and Mould Supervisor to join a leading social housing provider. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing the investigation, remediation, and prevention of damp and mould issues across housing stock, ensuring tenants live in safe and healthy conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate damp and mould surveyors and contractors to ensure timely inspections and remedial works.
Conduct site visits to assess the severity of damp and mould issues and provide technical recommendations.
Develop and implement strategies to prevent damp and mould problems, ensuring compliance with housing health and safety regulations.
Work closely with housing officers, maintenance teams, and tenants to address concerns and provide guidance on property maintenance and ventilation.
Ensure all remedial works are completed to high-quality standards, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Keep accurate records of inspections, reports, and completed works, providing updates to senior management.
Monitor and manage contractor performance, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels and contract terms.
Provide training and awareness to internal teams and tenants on damp and mould prevention measures.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Damp and Mould Supervisor or in a similar role within social housing, property maintenance, or building surveying.
Strong knowledge of damp and mould causes, remediation techniques, and relevant legislation, including Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.
Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field (e.g., RICS, CIOB, NVQ Level in Property Maintenance).
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytic abilities.
Ability to liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in using property management software and MS Office.
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to properties as required.
