About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Damp and Mould Supervisor to join a leading social housing provider. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing the investigation, remediation, and prevention of damp and mould issues across housing stock, ensuring tenants live in safe and healthy conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate damp and mould surveyors and contractors to ensure timely inspections and remedial works.

  • Conduct site visits to assess the severity of damp and mould issues and provide technical recommendations.

  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent damp and mould problems, ensuring compliance with housing health and safety regulations.

  • Work closely with housing officers, maintenance teams, and tenants to address concerns and provide guidance on property maintenance and ventilation.

  • Ensure all remedial works are completed to high-quality standards, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Keep accurate records of inspections, reports, and completed works, providing updates to senior management.

  • Monitor and manage contractor performance, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels and contract terms.

  • Provide training and awareness to internal teams and tenants on damp and mould prevention measures.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Damp and Mould Supervisor or in a similar role within social housing, property maintenance, or building surveying.

  • Strong knowledge of damp and mould causes, remediation techniques, and relevant legislation, including Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.

  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field (e.g., RICS, CIOB, NVQ Level in Property Maintenance).

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytic abilities.

  • Ability to liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using property management software and MS Office.

  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to properties as required.
