We are working with a leading construction contractor that specialises in commercial fit-out and public sector projects to find an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the growth and success of a respected company within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial fit-out and public sector projects.
- Analyse project documents, plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to gather relevant information for cost calculations.
- Review and evaluate tenders and contract documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assess risks and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tenders to clients, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered.
- Work closely with the project management team to assist in budgeting, cost planning, and forecasting.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing costs and advising on any variations or changes to scope.
- Keep up to date with market trends, new materials, and industry standards to ensure estimates are both competitive and realistic.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project estimating software.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors effectively.
- Ability to analyse and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
