Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Repairs Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day management of responsive repairs and maintenance services within our social housing properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that repair works are completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales, and in line with health and safety regulations. This role will involve supervising a team of operatives and subcontractors while delivering excellent customer service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of operatives and subcontractors to deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services.

  • Monitor and manage work orders, ensuring timely completion and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Conduct site inspections to assess work quality, adherence to health and safety standards, and overall performance.

  • Liaise with tenants, customer service teams, and housing officers to address repair issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Manage resources, materials, and scheduling to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to operatives, ensuring best practices are followed.

  • Investigate and resolve complaints and escalations, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports on completed works, performance metrics, and compliance.

  • Work closely with the Compliance and Health & Safety teams to ensure all work adheres to relevant regulations and policies.

  • Support in the recruitment, training, and development of team members.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the repairs and maintenance sector, preferably in social housing.

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, responsive repairs, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.

  • Experience using housing management or repairs scheduling systems.

  • Relevant trade qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline is desirable.

  • Full UK driving licence
