About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repairs operations within a leading social housing provider. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation that is committed to providing high-quality housing services to residents.

As a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of operatives, ensuring that all repair and maintenance works are completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with health & safety regulations. You will also liaise with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of trade operatives, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of repairs and maintenance work.

  • Plan and allocate work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.

  • Monitor and manage performance, conducting regular assessments and providing training where necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.

  • Manage and control budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining service standards.

  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.

  • Handle tenant queries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring effective resolution.

  • Work closely with contractors and external stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports on performance, productivity, and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Repairs Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor role within social housing or a related sector.

  • Strong technical knowledge of property maintenance, repairs, and compliance regulations.

  • Experience managing and motivating a team of operatives and subcontractors.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Good understanding of health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations.

  • Ability to use IT systems, including scheduling software and reporting tools.

  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) or equivalent experience.

  • A valid UK driving licence.
