About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repairs operations within a leading social housing provider. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation that is committed to providing high-quality housing services to residents.
As a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of operatives, ensuring that all repair and maintenance works are completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with health & safety regulations. You will also liaise with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate a team of trade operatives, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of repairs and maintenance work.
Plan and allocate work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
Monitor and manage performance, conducting regular assessments and providing training where necessary.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
Manage and control budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining service standards.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.
Handle tenant queries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring effective resolution.
Work closely with contractors and external stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
Maintain accurate records and produce reports on performance, productivity, and compliance.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar Repairs Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor role within social housing or a related sector.
Strong technical knowledge of property maintenance, repairs, and compliance regulations.
Experience managing and motivating a team of operatives and subcontractors.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good understanding of health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
Ability to use IT systems, including scheduling software and reporting tools.
A relevant trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) or equivalent experience.
A valid UK driving licence.
