We're recruiting on behalf of a leading social housing organisation that's looking for a proactive and skilled Repairs & Voids Surveyor to join their dynamic property services team.
The Role:
As a Repairs & Voids Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring that homes are maintained to a high standard, managing responsive repairs and overseeing void refurbishments to reduce turnaround times and enhance tenant satisfaction. You will carry out inspections, specify works, and liaise with contractors to ensure quality and compliance, all while delivering value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect occupied and void properties to assess repair and refurbishment needs
Prepare detailed schedules of works and manage delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
Oversee contractor performance and ensure work meets required standards and health & safety regulations
Provide technical advice to residents and manage expectations throughout the works process
Collaborate with internal teams to minimise void periods and enhance service delivery
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a similar surveying role within social housing or a related sector
Strong knowledge of building pathology, repairs diagnostics, and void property management
Understanding of relevant legislation and standards, such as HHSRS, Decent Homes, and CDM
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach
A relevant technical qualification (e.g. HNC, CIOB, RICS) is desirable
Full UK driving licence is essential
