About the Role:

Are you an experienced Surveyor with a strong background in social housing? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading housing provider looking for a skilled professional to assess, plan, and oversee painting, general repairs, and maintenance works across their housing stock. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team, ensuring high-quality standards while delivering excellent service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys and inspections of properties to assess painting, general repairs, and maintenance requirements.

  • Prepare detailed work specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for both planned and reactive maintenance works.

  • Ensure all works are carried out to agreed standards, within budget, and in compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and other stakeholders to coordinate works effectively and minimise disruption.

  • Provide technical advice on painting materials, coatings, general maintenance, and best practices.

  • Investigate and resolve complaints or issues related to maintenance and painting works.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports on completed projects and performance metrics.

  • Work closely with the Compliance and Health & Safety teams to ensure all work adheres to relevant regulations and policies.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a surveying role within painting, general repairs, and maintenance, preferably in social housing.

  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, general maintenance practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent analytic, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.

  • Experience using housing management or surveying systems.

  • Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in painting and decorating, maintenance, or a related field is desirable.

  • Full UK driving licence
