The Daniel Owen team took time out from construction recruitment and held our first fundraising event for chosen annual charity of the year, Cancer Research UK. The Reading and Oxford offices came together on 25th August for a fun filled BBQ and nod to Rio with our very own ‘Daniel Owen Olympics’. Having paid the £5 team entry, it was evident there had been much training for the key competitive events: Stick & Hoops, Head Basketball and Crossbow Challenge. Whilst we knew our recruiters would have the competitive spirit, the games showed our IT department shouldn’t be taken lightly in the sports arena either!
Fundraising continued with a BBQ feast and raffle, prizes kindly donated by the local community, including; Teamsport Go Karting tickets, Hexagon pantomime family ticket and a 4 ball golfing voucher from Mapledurham Golf Club.
The fundraising team (thanks Sabrina! and all that donated) raised a staggering £1,300 – brilliant!
You can follow our fundraising efforts over the year by going to our MyDonate page - click here. We've set ourselves a target for £2,000 which, if reached, will be matched by the company. We're in recruitment, so beating our target is top of our minds, let's see how we do.
